I grew from a mountain,
So I always knew
Life’s peaks led to valleys
And all valleys led to peaks.
I grew from a mountain
So I learned soon
How to endure every rockfall
With cracks that run deep.
I grew from a mountain
So I am strong enough to carry
The weight of love on my back
And the water of the streams.
I grew from a mountain
So I understand that a slower pace
Makes the hills a little less gruesome
& the world a more beautiful place.
